WHAT IS ZEN COACHING BASED ON?

As a coaching approach it unites the focus on reaching outer goals – a key characteristic of traditional coaching – with a deeper inner focus than what is normally found within coaching.
The approach is built upon basic mindfulness principles, or conscious presence. It is also based on an exploration of limiting beliefs, and on our true inner resources. The main method is the practice of inquiry – an inner, focused exploration based on specific questions and a supporting listening practice.

IS ZEN COACHING THERAPY?

Psychotherapy is often described as a journey of the soul; a deep exploration of your inner and outer world. For whatever reason, you may be suffering and you may have lost contact with your true self; through the therapeutic relationship with your therapist, psychotherapy seeks to restore and renew this connection. The primary purpose of therapy is to build healthy relationship with your ‘self’, others and the world at large. So yes, Zen coaching is therapy, as we become less identified with mental positions and negative judgments of ourselves and others, and more free to live in strength, peace and positive contribution to ourselves and others.

HOW LONG DOES EACH COACHING SESSION TAKE?

A therapy session is 60 minutes. If there is time and the customer requires a longer session we can agree on stretching out the regular session.
